Dr. Keith Vereen President: 2023-2024

Dr. Keith Vereen was born on January 2, 1966 at Fort Bragg, NC and is the 2nd son of Mrs. Lee Vereen and the late John L. Vereen. 

Education: He graduated Cum Laude from UNC-Greensboro where he earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Social Work and Political Science. He studied law at WFU School of Law and holds a Master of Arts of Religious Education with a concentration in Christian Education from Carolina Christian College in Winston-Salem, NC. He earned his Doctorate in Ministry with a concentration on Christian Leadership, graduating at the top of his class from John Wesley University in High Point, N.C in May 2018. 

Associations, Honors and Accomplishments: He is the past Chairman of the Administrative Board at Providence Baptist Church in Kernersville, NC.  He is a past President of the Board of Directors of the Bethesda Center for the Homeless. He currently serves on the Forsyth County Tax Equalization Board of Review.  He is Life Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and past Basileus of the Winston-Salem Psi Phi Chapter.  He is a Master Mason and a Past Master of Red Rock Lodge #809 PHA in Walkertown, NC. and he currently serves as the District Deputy Grand Master of the 30th Masonic District in the Western Region of NC. He is an active member and current Religious Affairs Committee Chairman of the Winston-Salem Chapter of the NAACP. He was elected to serve as the present Ministers Conference of Winston-Salem and Vicinity President in November 2022. President Vereen was ordained in 2014 and currently serves as the 15th Pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Kernersville, NC.

He is a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans, member of the American Legion, and a member of the 555th Parachute Infantry Association (The Triple Nickels). He retired from active military service after serving in the Eighty-Second Airborne Division and the U.S. Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, N.C. He was awarded the Psi Phi Chapter Superior Service Award in 2007 and 2011 and he received the Psi Phi Chapter Omega Man of the Year award in 2008 and 2014, he received the Psi Phi Chapter Scholarship Award in 2016.  He was also the first and only recipient of the Psi Phi Chapter Willing Vessel Award in 2013. 

Family Life: He married the former Yolanda Renee’ Richardson on January 24, 1987 and they have two adult sons.

His greatest accomplishment: Surviving and defeating cancer through his faith in Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! 

His favorite Bible verse:   Numbers 30:2 - If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

    Rev. Angela D. Brown

    Attended St. Augustine’s College in Raleigh, NC, with concentration of studies in both Chemistry and Business Management. An ordained minister of twenty-two years in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. She is the Pastor of Shouse TrueVine CME Church, in WS, NC. She has been employed at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist for twenty-four years, now working in the FaithHealth Division as the Program Coordinator. She is a Board Member for The Shepherd Center of Greater WS, has been a stakeholder member for Forsyth county Opioid settlement Committee and partner with several other CBO. Rev. Brown engages daily within the community by addressing Social and Psychosocial determinates of health to help improve health outcomes while hoping to decrease health disparities.

    Elder Quentin Gunter

    He is very grateful for the solid foundation of teaching he received from this church and the many capacities he worked in. He was ordained an Elder in the Lord’s church in July 2006. Upon the infinite wisdom of our Lord, he was once again directed to return back to his roots, the grand ole’ F.B.H. Church of God of the Americas in 2013. He now is the pastor at Danner’s Chapel F.B.H. Church in North Wilkesboro, NC. He currently works as the Equity and Inclusion Specialist in the EEO/HR department at Winston-Salem State University. He owns Quentin’s Lawn Service, where there is “Exceptional Lawncare and Grooming,” and he is also a certified American Red Cross Instructor for CPR/First Aid. He received both his B.A. degree in Human Resource Management and M.A. degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University.

    Rev. Dr. Paul Wilson

    He is a graduate of Johnson University, Emmanuel Christian Seminary, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee. In August, 2018, Paul Wilson began his twenty-eighth year of service with Shaw University. During his years of service at the university, he has acted as a Professor of Religion and Philosophy, academic advisor, and CAPE Site Coordinator for High Point. Currently he serves as an Elder of Laurel Oak Christian Church of High Point, North Carolina

    Rev. Dr. Dennis Leach Sr.

    is the treasurer of the Rowan Baptist Association. He is happily married to the ordained minister Ms. Charolette Geraldine Hagan, with whom he raised five children.

    Rev. Denise Wade

    is an Associate Minister of Union Baptist Church where she serve as the Pastoral Ministry Assistant to Bishop Sir Walter Mack. Serves as the liaison for Bishop Mack with leadership and membership. She’s on the staff of Union Baptist Church and serve in many different areas of the ministry. Serves as the Coordinator of the C2C Drug Dealers and Street Life Conference Ministry. She is also involved in the WSFC School system as a volunteer and a Mentor w/PIVOT Ministry. But most importantly, a Child of God and it is her desire that everyone be saved and experience the Love of Christ.

    Bishop Todd Fulton

    is a graduate of Shaw University two times. Senior pastor of Mt. Moriah Outreach Center, Kernersville NC. Director of Mustard seed Urban farm school and farm. Certified bee keeper. Been a member of the MCWSV for twenty years. A male mentor for Project Grow. A warrior for social justice.

    Rev. Dr. Charolette Leach

    is the Associate Minister at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church who teaches classes for the Christian Development Course and Sunday School. Leach is additionally the member of the Outreach Ministry and Coordinator of the Health Promotion Ministry who runs the Morning Star Community Garden.

    Rev. Willard Bass, Jr.

    is an independent community development consultant, organizer, and minister. Willard founded the Institute for Dismantling Racism (IDR, Inc.) in 2004 as a collaborative whose focus on addressing institutional racism along with all oppression that diminish human wellness. He now operates the Freedom Tree at IDR to meet people where they are on the continuum of awareness of race/culture and the building of a transformed anti-racist network. Rev. Bass’ more recent accomplishments: Co-founding of the SHARE Cooperative of Winston Salem and the Harvest Market Food Store addressing food insecurity in Forsyth County; and the “Justice Collective” a broad-based cross-racial network of social justice organizations. Rev Bass is a President Emeritus of the Ministers Conference of Winston Salem and Vicinity. Rev. Bass is married to Shirley Diane for 46 years this September. They have three adult children and twin grandsons. They live to nurture family through modeling diverse, equitable and inclusive community.

    Dr. Cynthia Dixon

    Rev. Dr. Cynthia Dixon is a native of Winston-Salem, NC, and is an anointed prophetic voice who preaches & teaches with power, purpose, and passion for the Kingdom of God. She has over 28 years in ministry and operates in the 5-fold ministry gifting. She serves both the church and the community as a preacher, teacher, motivator, mentor, and prayer warrior. She received her undergraduate degree in 1990 from UNC Chapel-Hill with a degree in Business Administration, a Master’s in Divinity from Shaw University (2014), a Master’s in Executive Leadership from Gardner-Webb University (2018), and Doctorate from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology (2021). Dr. Dixon is employed by the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system working at Central office on the Career and Technical Education administrative team. As an educator, she has impacted countless youth helping them achieve academic success and personal development. She is a devoted wife and mother and believes in living what she preaches. She is the wife of 33 years to Rev. Jarrod Dixon. She and her husband have 2 sons – Jarrod Dixon II (Seher) residing in Charlotte, NC, and Jiwann Dixon (Shade’) of Atlanta GA. Most importantly, she loves the Lord with all her heart and soul and considers herself a humble servant of Jesus Christ. Her greatest passion is spending time in the presence of God. Her favorite scripture is “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Mathew 6:33.
